Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Network Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and optimize the data center network infrastructure, with a focus on migrating from Extreme Networks to Cisco Nexus. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Nexus and Extreme Routing and Switching (R&S), with a strong preference for candidates with experience in VXLAN technology. The role involves working with Core/Edge Routers and TOR switches, implementing VXLAN Bridge/Router configurations, and ensuring seamless migration between network environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate network infrastructure from Extreme Networks to Cisco Nexus, including Core/Edge Routers and TOR switches.
- Configure and manage VXLAN Bridge/Router setups for efficient network communication.
- Implement Network Design for Cisco (NDFC) methodologies to ensure optimal network performance and scalability.
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and ISIS for efficient data routing within the data center network.
- Deploy and maintain Extreme VXLAN Bridge Routing configurations to facilitate network segmentation and virtualization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks or issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in Nexus and Extreme Routing and Switching (R&S) platforms, with hands-on experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of VXLAN technology, with practical experience in VXLAN Bridge/Router configurations.
- Experience with Network Design for Cisco (NDFC) methodologies is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and ISIS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) and Extreme Networks certifications are advantageous.
