We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our Grid Services department within Information Technology. As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and reliability of SCE’s critical data infrastructure, adhering to the highest IT security standards and direction.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and administration of perimeter and internal security systems. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Multi-vendor firewall administration
• Device posturing
• Secure authentication and authorization servers
• Intrusion prevention systems
• Web application firewalls
• Network packet analysis
• Vulnerability assessments
• Network asset management
• Network forensics
• Incident response
• Machine-generated log analysis and retention
• Network anomaly detection and alerting

Additionally, you will be instrumental in implementing complex SmartGrid technical security solutions as part of the Grid 2 build-out project. This project aims to create a next-generation secure, ultra-reliable, high-speed, multi-protocol provider network, integrating various existing networks including SmartGrid, SmartConnect, SCADA, EMS, GMS, and SCE Admin.

 Required knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs)

• 5+ years of experience in IT Security.
• Experience with security infrastructure equipment including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, and Web Application Firewalls.
• Experience in Networking/Network Operations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a Technical Discipline.
• CISSP certification is preferred.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
• Experience with Proxy technology.
• Experience with InfoBlox (DNS, DHCP, DNS, RPZ, IPAM).
• Experience with NAC ForeScout.
• Experience with ICS Toolsets such as Dragos and ICX.
• Experience with Cisco’s ISE Solution.
• Experience with CoreLight NDR.
• Experience configuring, tuning, and performing in-depth analysis of Security and Security-related tools.
• Experience with implementing policies and procedures for compliance and audits.
• Operational experience with advanced firewall features, including Data Filtering, Application Control, Anti-Virus, and File Blocking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
